Fewer single-detached homes have been registered in B.C. this year compared to the five-year average, with 2,517 registered versus an average of 4,146. Multi-unit building registrations also declined, with 19,994 registered compared to the five-year average of 22,347. Metro Vancouver accounts for 36.6% of single-detached home construction, while the Central Okanagan holds 6.2%. Various Okanagan regions have registered new multi-unit homes in smaller numbers.
